In this message, we’ll explore the inseparable relationship between loving God and loving others, as taught in Matthew 22:34–40. Drawing from the words of 1 John, we’ll see that genuine love cannot remain in words or emotions alone; it must take form in action. When our love for God doesn’t overflow into love for others, we risk becoming hypocritical, professing devotion without demonstration. Yet when we focus only on loving others, we drift toward a self-centered, works-based faith. True love begins with God and naturally overflows into love for others. Together, we’ll consider how this love is expressed both in our relationship with God and in our relationships with others.
